Bucket List

3/22/2020

Steven needed to get his hair cut. I said I would do it and he agreed. Wow. For the first time in 15 years we didn’t bicker. I was a little scared what it would look like. Worst case scenario we take a razor blade to it (which I didn’t have). I cleared the spare bathroom and turned it into my hair styling studio. Didn’t turn out too bad. Had a few spots that needed some work. Dad helped finish the trimming along the back of the neck. Bucket list item crossed off. And now my bathroom is all clean…

LOI 5K

This morning I watched/participated in daily Mass online for the first time in my home. Set up my picture I had taken at St. Mary's and put my phone on top of my Have Faith sign. It really helped to do all the actions of sitting, standing, and kneeling and saying it out loud. I felt the spirit upon me even though I was not physically at Mass - I was mentally there. So beautiful.

Then like we were supposed to I started my Luck of the Irish 5k at 9 am on the treadmill. It was tough as I am used to outdoor walking, but when it’s under 30 degrees outside, inside is ok.

Towards the end I decided to join in on the 10 am rosary via Zoom. I knew I wasn’t going to be done on the treadmill by then so I got to be in two places at once. It was nice to see the ladies again and to pray to our blessed mother.

Later on in the day I Face timed with Billy and got to meet Kaitlin for the first time. We had a great short conversation about him meeting Natalie from Survivor last weekend at the track.

Diamond Dust

This morning I stopped at my favorite small town bakery - Diamond Dust. They were still doing well with business despite no dine-in. The place was slowly being decorated for spring. I finally got what I felt a little normalcy with this. Will write more on all of this this weekend.

Rosary via Zoom

3/19/2020

The Pope has asked the nation to pray a Rosary today at 3pm. With the help of technology we were able to do this with the app Zoom. I was a little bit hard to hear at times but think by the end we figured it out. Using technology apps like this is becoming the new 'normal'. Better freshen up on my Master's degree...

St. Patrick's Day

Today was St. Patrick’s Day. We were going to have lunch with the St. Patrick’s day Queen, Cindy Lynch, after speaking with the kids. With no school, there was a slight change of plans. We went to 3rd Street for what I call my “last dine in meal.” Yep tonight after 5pm there will be no more dining in.

I went to Mass in LeCenter like I do every Tuesday night. I teared up during it. So many people would love to receive the Eucharist. Even just the tiniest of particle. I am very blessed to be able to attend Mass. I sat in prayer for sometime after. Thinking when would the next time I would be able to attend Mass. This question weighs heavy on my heart.

The news of the world is scary. All schools are closed and on-line learning starting soon. The halls are empty. The chairs are put up. How long? We don’t know. I can hear the kids at the beginning of the school day. I will sure miss them. Praying for all families and the world.

Family Day

The news is becoming more closer to home with CV. Groups of 50 or less can meet. I didn’t have plans for the day and ended up at the parents. We turned it into family day. Watched some LEGO Masters, went for a walk, and spent time with Brooky.

In the morning I was watching KARE11 and they had a really cool science experiment. Since I had some time before my hair appt I tried it out. I was surprised that A. I had everything I needed in the house and B. It actually worked. At noon I had my hair colored.Yep I look totally ridiculous...We talked a lot about the CV and how people are reacting to it. Went to LeCenter for Mass. There were more people than normal. Right now the country should not be meeting in groups of 250 or more.

Good Council / 5K Walk

So this week we had a time change, full moon, and now Friday the 13th. At 11 today we had Mass at Good Council with the Sister. Would this be my last Mass for a few weeks? Masses in Denver, CO where already being canceled. It was announced at Mass that there would be no visitors allowed after 5 starting tonight. Ate lunch with Fr., Jen, Sr. Jovann and Sr. Doris. I don’t know when I will be seeing Sr. Jovann again. I will sure miss her. When we departed we gave some big hugs (though we probably shouldn’t have).

After work my friend Mike and I practiced for the upcoming Luck of the Irish 5K. I enjoy walking with someone else and it was a great time for Mike and I to get to know one another more. I cherish friendships like his.

7 Mile Creek Park / Gustavus

It snowed over night and looked so beautiful. By 9:30 I had to get outside. It was way too pretty not to go out and take pictures. Plus I knew that there was no ice under it. I went to 7mile creek park and Gustavus. I was out for about 2 hours. It started to rain which made for some great pictures.
